Ugh, maybe I’m just unlucky, but I’ve never been able to use SOAP in a straight-forward manner. When trying to connect to a web service at work via SOAP, there’s always a problem popping up, mainly from the service providers seldom testing their service w/ a different language (this is especially a problem when trying to connect to a .NET-based service via PHP).
So I’ve spent the last two days trying to get a simple web service working for an internal thing at work, and even though I (finally) managed to connect to it using PHP (the service itself is also written in PHP), I’m not having any luck connecting to it w/ Python via Suds. As far as I can tell the service is set up correctly, but what’s really frustrating is that I actually did the same thing either late last year or earlier this year, but I can’t remember where I put the files for it!
I’ll never understand why we don’t just stick to using either simple HTTP post/get requests or baring that, JSON. 😐
