Been away from posting at least, but still been around. It’s a new year, 2012, and here’s what I’ve been up to lately.

  1. I liked Batman: Arkham City so much that I went ahead and bought Batman: Arkham Asylum. Needless to say, it’s one of the few North American games that are region coded, and so it doesn’t work on my Asian Xbox 360. At least the game itself is pretty fun.
  2. Bought a new US Xbox 360. I was on the fence about this for a while, bought it was only $200 for a basic model, and I could use the HDD from my Asian Xbox in it, so it’s a good deal.
  3. I also finally picked up Gears of War 3 for ~$30. Let me just say that while it’s by no means a bad game, I wouldn’t call it good either. I think it’s an average game and a decent way to end the series (re: I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for it).
  4. Went on a comic book binge and bought a pile of comics via Comixology. Did some poking around and it looks like the save it in a proprietary format.
  5. Speaking of comics, Batman: Year One and Batman: The Long Halloween as every bit as good as the critics say (my personal fav. being the Long Halloween).
  6. CES 2012 is taking place right now, and while I was skeptical, I’m impressed by what I’ve seen of Ubuntu TV so far (assuming it isn’t just a concept video), but I wish Canonical would put the development time into Ubuntu on the desktop instead:
